Cbank: Russians’ inflationary expectations fall to 6.3% in March
MOSCOW, Mar 29 (PRIME) – Russians’ inflationary expectations contracted for a fourth month in a row and amounted to 6.3% in March, the central bank said in a statement Tuesday quoting a poll conducted by the Infom agency.
“The bulk of polled citizens still thinks that prices have grown faster than before in the past year. But the share of respondents who thought that prices had grown by more than 50% in the past year fell to 6.3%, the lowest figure since the beginning of 2015,” the regulator said.
Household concerns about higher prices for a significant part of services and goods have decreased due to stabilization of pricing dynamics, but concerns about prices for gasoline went up as the latter’s price rose in March.
The poll showed that Russians are very optimistic about possible development of the Russian economy next year, but the number of people who had to reject large planned spending, like spending on remodeling of houses or on vacations, increased nevertheless, the central bank said.
